Coach Flowers will be entering his sixth season for the Bixby Spartans.
This will be his 4th season as defensive coordinator. Coach Flowers
coaches outside linebackers. Coach Flowers has led the Spartan defense
to three consecutive 6A-II state championships in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
Before coming to Bixby, Coach Flowers spent six years at Sulphur
Springs, Texas as a defensive line coach. While in Sulphur Springs, they
were 2007 District Champions, 2008 4A D-II State Champions, 2009 State
Semi-Finalists, 2010 Regional Finalists, and 2011 Bi-District Champs.
During his time there, he coached in the 2008 ESPN Thursday Night
Lights game and the 2011 ESPN Saturday Night High School Kickoff
Classic. In 2004-2006 he coached in Commerce, Texas where the Tigers
made the playoffs both years.
Coach Flowers holds a Master's Degree in Sports Administration from
East Central University, Ada, Ok.
Coach Flowers has been married for 18 years to his wife Amber, a 3rd
grade teacher at North Elementary in Bixby. Rodney and Amber have a 10
year old daughter, Aubrey, 8 year old son Kaiden and a 6 year old son
