Coach Gilligan is in his fourth year as the Head Strength & Conditioning
Coach at Bixby High School. Gilligan will be responsible for the athletic
development of all Spartan Athletes.
Prior to Bixby High School, Gilligan had two stints in the Big Ten
Conference at Northwestern University and the University of Illinois.
Gilligan spent two years a Graduate Assistant Sports Performance Coach
at Northwestern University where he worked mostly with the Wildcats
Football Program. After Northwestern, Gilligan moved on to the University
of Illinois as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach working with the
Illini Baseball, Softball, and Women’s Swim Teams. Gilligan has had the
opportunity to be a part of two FBS bowl games and have coached
athletes both in the National Football League and Major League Baseball.
In 2010, Gilligan received his Bachelor's Degree in Health Promotions with
an emphasis in Exercise and Health from Oklahoma State University.
Gilligan later earned his Master’ s Degree in Sports Administration from
A native of Chicago, Illinois, Gilligan holds certifications from the Collegiate
Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, The National Strength
and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning
Specialist, USA Weightlifting as a Certified Sports Performance Coach,
and is also an FMS Certified Exercise Professional.
